The new roaming and billing system!

The rapid spread of Wi-Fi Hotspots operated by different Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISP) caused many isolated solutions. When the mobile user leaves his home network, no service will be available in another city or another network of a WISP.

Every time the user leaves the area of his WISP a new prepaid card has to be purchased. Therefore the existing system is quite impractical for the mobile user due to the fact that only Wi-Fi Hotspots operated by one provider are available.

The author describes in his book Roaming between Wireless Local Area Networks,
ISBN: 978-3-8364-8708-5
how to realize a safe and practical billing system for roaming between different WISP.

The system allows the customer to use the services of various WISP´s and any available Wi-Fi Hotspot. Moreover the new dynamic billing method (User-Fairness-Model) shows how the service units can be cleared as fair as possible for the customer.
It is used wherever the customer behavior should be actively managed. The User-Fairness-Model can also be transferred to other economic sectors like telecommunication, traffic (parking, congestion charge), energy, tourism. In addition the book shows how to ec
onomically implement the roaming and dynamic billing system into a business model.
